To determine what glove size you or your child should wear:

  1. Measure the cirumfernece of the widest part of our hand, excluding the thumb (as seen to the right)
  2. Round this number up (for example, if the circumference is 4.5 inches, round up to 5)
  3. Add 1 additional inch to this number

So, if the circumference of your hand measures 4.5 inches, you should round up to 5, and then add 1 to get 6.  Your glove size is 6.  Simple as that!

Keep in mind that goalie gloves should NOT fit like regular gloves.  They should be about 1/2 to 1 inch longer than the fingers.  Goalie gloves should always be tried on before purchasing, as sizes vary from brand to brand (which is why we don’t suggest purchasing them online).  If gloves are too long, goalies will have trouble controlling and especially throwing the ball.  If they are too short, then overall performance, ability to block shots, and finger/hand safety will all be negatively impacted.
